Winnipeg Parks rose is a hardy Parkland Series rose developed in Morden, Manitoba. A truly versatile rose, that brings three seasons of color and beauty to the landscape.

One of the first roses to leaf out in the spring, the new foliage emerges bright green, tinged with red, turning to a matte bronze-green during the summer. In the fall as the temperatures drop, the foliage of Winnipeg parks turns bright orange, contrasting nicely with the red canes and orange rose hips.
If you planted Winnipeg Parks for the flowers, you will not be disappointed; Winnipeg Parks produces lovely, bold, full flowers that open cherry-red with a darker reverse. The large 3 inch, fragrant flowers are borne on stiff stems in clusters of 5 or more roses per stem. A floriferous rose, Winnipeg Parks just keeps blooming all season long, from late spring well into the first hard fall frost.
An own root rose, with Rugosa parentage, Winnipeg Parks is also a work-horse in the landscape. Plant this prolific bloomer in a mass planting on a hillside to create a summer of carefree blooms, along walkways, in raised beds or in the perennial garden. The flowers hold up well as cut flowers in bouquets, and floral arrangements.
Winter Care: As with all Parkland Series roses, Winnipeg Parks requires little winter care. Trim back any long canes to prevent breakage form ice or snow and you are done. A thick layer of snow is all that this rose requires to make it through the winter. If you do experience die back or the rose is crushed, do not worry, Winnipeg parks is an own root rose so it will regrow from the roots up, true to type.
