Home Run just got better, now also available in brilliant pink, Pink Home Run, a sport of Home Run, shares all the wonderful attributes of Home Run, but in cotton candy pink.
Home Run® rose started out right, with excellent parents that include Baby Love rose, and the world famous Knockout Rose. A true carefree shrub rose, this very hardy rose requires little care, other than a full sun location, regular watering, fertilization with a balanced organic fertilizer twice a summer, and regular dead-heading to keep Home Run blooming all summer.
Winter Care: As an own root rose, Home Run needs little, if any, winter protection other than a layer of snow. Avoid trimming back in the fall; rather wait until spring when new growth emerges to prune as needed for shape. Also, avoid fertilizing in the fall, to prevent encouraging new growth too late in the year.
Where to Plant Home Run Rose:
Home Run not only excels at disease resistance and winter hardiness, but sheer bloom power! A highly floriferous rose, expect to be pleased with the non-stop fragrant, and flowers all summer long. The cheerful true red roses are borne on stiff stems, in color packed, fragrant clusters. A great cut flower, Home Run rose makes floral arrangements a breeze.
Plant Home Run:
• Along walkways, to enjoy the strong tea perfume wafting through the air.
• Plant five or more Home Run roses to create a blooming rose border.
• Add to an existing perennial garden to give a 'pop' of pure red.
• The winter hardiness of Home Run rose makes it ideal for planting in large patio containers or whiskey barrels.
