Lavender ChiffonTM Hibiscus, or Rose of Sharon, is a vast improvement on the older varieties of Rose of Sharon. Delightful clean frilly lavender flowers are profuse on this strong growing Hibiscus cultivar. The almost tropical look of Rose of Sharon adds a dash of the exotic into any garden design or landscape. Blooms heavily in late summer when many landscape shrubs are fizzling out - always a show stopper.
Lavender ChiffonTM Hibiscus Garden Uses and Care: This beautiful Rose of Sharon is a large landscape shrub but makes an excellent large container centerpiece or patio tree when young. It can be planted out into the landscape as it matures and can then be left to grow into a large shrub or can be trained easily into a gorgeous small tree form that you can plant a perennial garden beneath. Can be heavily prumed in the fall or spring since it blooms on new growth. You'll notice that the Chiffon series of Hibiscus has a very strong growth habit when compared to some older cultivars. Tolerant to many soil types and prefers moderate watering once established. Avoid planting in soil that is boggy or saturated especially in the winter, or consider planting in a raised bed or berm to improve drainage.
