How to Grow Isotoma Blue Star Creeper
Easy to grow and maintain. Profuse tiny flowers bloom off and on all summer. Here are a few tips to successfully growing Isotoma Blue Star Creeper in the garden:
Select a full sun or part sun location that receives at least 6 hours of good sun and has well-draining soil.
If planting in the ground, dig a hole similar to container size of the plant. If planting in-between rocks, in containers or around flagstone or pavers, strip down the soil, around the roots to 'fit' the planting area.
Remove the plant and lightly 'fluff' up the roots to help promote good root growth in the ground.
Plant so that the top crown of the plant is even with the soil level, back fill is needed and water in thoroughly.
Blue Star Creeper grows best with regular watering, allowing the soil to dry slightly between irrigation. Avoid growing in standing water as this can lead to pest problems.
Fertilize with a liquid kelp fertilizer such as Maxi-Crop once a month or as needed.
If growing in areas that receive snow, plant in locations where snow will not piled up on.
Other perennial plants to pair with Isotoma Blue Star Creeper include Bressingham Thyme, Orange Flame Alpine Wallflower, Leptinella Black Brass Buttons, or Veronica Aztec Gold.
